Whole Fruitcake for $50; Half Fruitcake $25

Uncle wizard writes: I know, I know, all the jokes about using Grandma’s fruitcake for a doorstop.  Well, my grandmother made the BEST fruitcake ever, and I have updated her recipe to use a wide variety of dried fruits (pineapple, papaya, nectarines, pears, raisins, apricots, cherries) soaked in brandy for 2-3 weeks, and add three different nuts (Brazil, walnuts, and pecans) to a rich cake batter that simply holds the fruit together.  After they are baked, they are drizzled with more brandy.  Fruitcake haters love my fruitcake: it’s rich, moist, and full of fruit!  This is an experiment this year to test the market, so I will have 2-3 fruitcakes available for purchase, either whole or half.
